Suburban Lawns

I’ve always lived in the suburbs, but found the city so much more alluring. The lights! The crowds! The restaurants! The action! Now as I get older, I’m starting to find value in the sleepy mundane that suburbia has to offer. I love this Suburban Lawns photo series so much. It captures everything I’ve come to appreciate about non-city life. How about you? Are you a city rat or country mouse? …or somewhere in between?

  • Pretty pictures 🙂
I’m more of a city girl, I’ve always lived in the city and probably always will be living in the city.

  • Ugh yes I fell in love with this too when I saw it on Rookie.

I’ve lived in really remote areas, the country as well as the city and I can definitely say I really do prefer country. I love the city and all of the opportunities that are available to you but the country is so beautiful and quiet and everything seems so much more simple.

  • I definitely feel like I’m more of a city girl, except city with a small-town vibe. .. and if ever a place such as this existed, it would be San Francisco.

I think I would absolutely love SF. It’s got the city vibe, but it also has homey neighborhoods and small businesses and local products and artists and culture and hole-in-the-wall restaurants.

I feel like I could belong in SF! later on in life 🙂

Love the photos also, and these houses are totally SanFrancisco-esque.

  • I’m a country bumpkin who is drawn to the city… but will forever be in love with the country. This photo series is beautiful

  • Definately a country girl, but now I’ll have to live in the city to study for years and years. I’ve found this great room though, just across the road from a parc, and on the other side of the parc there’s the sea. Honestly I couldn’t be happier.

  • City rat! Lived in the country for 15 years, then suburbia for nearly another ten. I am so over it for now. Not that I don’t appreciate the country, but it’s definitely not where I want to be now. If life goes my way, I will be living in NYC in the next few years. I love being able to walk downstairs and buy bagels.

  • As much as I love the hype and activities that surround cities I’m a country mouse, I love knowing that I can take walks through endless fields, see animals and feel entirely alone for a while.
