Ever since I can remember, I’ve always wanted to go horseback riding while on vacation. I’d always bug my dad to take me, but he was never too keen. He finally obliged in Aruba when I was 9 years old. We had so much fun that day that we decided to do it again at Piiholo Ranch when we were in Makawao, Maui.
The ranch is located away from the coast and it’s really funny how much the topography of the island changes once you go inland. No more beaches, no more resorts, just rolling hills and open space.
Our rancher tour guide, Morgan. She had such an awesome spirit and personality, I loved her vibe!
It was such a fun day! I think my dad liked horseback riding even better than the sunrise at Mount Haleakala. If you’re ever in Maui, I highly recommend you check out Piiholo Ranch (they also have ziplining!). Who knows, maybe I’ll try ziplining next. Eek! I’m kind of scared of heights though. Have any of you guys gone horseback riding while on vacation?
