On our second to last day in Hawaii, my mom and I took a wreath-making class at Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm (my dad took the pictures; he’s not really an artsy crafty kind of guy, although he did glue one flower to the wreath, so I guess you can say he contributed).
The lavender farm is way up on the top of a mountain where you can see rolling hills and houses and ranches for miles and miles. It wasn’t the most ‘touristy’ thing to do, but it was a really great way to recharge and unwind after being on the go so much the entire week.
My mom used to make these crazily complex topiary trees back in the day, so this was definitely a throwback to when I was younger and would help her.
I was so afraid the wreath would get crushed on the plane ride home, but I’m pleased to report that it made it back safe and sound. Our wreath now happily sits at the entryway of our home.
Handmade home decor really is the best ♥
