If you’re in SF, there’s a super cool event this Thursday you need to know about: Score. Score is a pop-up shop that started in Brooklyn in 2009. Since then, it’s expanded and is taking place in San Francisco this Thursday, August 21st at the SOMA StrEat Food Park.
Here’s how the event works: you bring your old clothes, accessories (shoes, jewelry, bags, etc), books, art supplies, housewares or vinyl records and pay an entrance fee. Once inside, everyone drops off their old items at curated departments and then takes whatever they like! For FREE! How amazing is that?! In addition to the free shopping, there will be DJs, food truck drinks & eats, screen printing, nail art, photo booths and more.
Here’s a video of the Brooklyn Score event to give you an idea of what it looks like. Proceeds from ticket sales go to Hack the Hood, an organization that provides design and technical training to low-income youth.
