Shooting Videos

I spent the last few days with my friend Katrina shooting some videos. Katrina is an incredibly talented videographer from the Philippines who was visiting San Francisco to shoot a wedding. The last time she was in SF, we shot this video (which is still one of my favorites!!).

This time we were pretty ambitious and shot in multiple locations: Alamo Square, Ocean Beach, Rockridge (a neighborhood of Oakland), my bedroom and my (newly redecorated!) office.

It will be a few months until I get to see the final videos, but until then, here are a few of my favorite outtakes (you may have already seen some if you follow me on Instagram).

Our day started out at The Mill, a cafe in San Francisco that specializes in fancy toast (such a San Francisco thing to specialize in!). The light in that place is just gorgeous.

This photo was not staged at all;)

Then we walked over to Alamo Square to shoot by the Painted Ladies. They were lookin’ mightyyy fine that day.

I really love this part of San Francisco because it’s high up on a hill and when you look out, you can see the whole beautiful city.

We spent the afternoon at my house where we shot in my bedroom and office.

The next day, we shot at Ocean Beach, but we were running short on time, so unfortunately, we didn’t get too many stills. You guys will just have to wait for the video to come out! You can see some pictures from that day on my Instagram account here and here.

Thanks for a fun few days, Katrina! I can’t wait till next year when we get to do it again!

  • So, I’m a tech nerd and I see that you have a flatbed scanner plus a canon printer with scanner. Do you use them for film scanning? Just curious!

    Lovely post as always!

    • Hi Ashley! The printer just came with a scanner built in; I never use it because my Epson scanner is much higher quality. I use the Epson scanner to scan in my schoolwork since I go to Savannah College of Art and Design through their eLearning program. And I do use it to scan film in too 🙂 it’s a wonderful scanner!
