I’m trying to resist the urge to say something super cliché, like 2014 was a whirlwind of a year, but seriously, it was. Maybe even a double whirlwind (okay that makes no sense, but you get my point). In 2014, I added the DIY Build and DIY Beauty columns to the blog. I also started collaborating with Giovanna Garcia to develop and photograph original recipes AND Danika Lamb to create and photograph original hairstyles for Drifter & the Gypsy. Phew!
It’s crazy to think this little corner of the Internet I started in 2008 is becoming a full-time job. MY full-time job. I put my heart and soul into D&tG in 2014. At times, my plate is so full that my mind is spinning and I can’t think straight and it feels like I’m repeatedly banging my head up against a wall. Sometimes I wonder what it feels like to have a regular “9-5” when I have a “When I open my eyes to when I close my eyes,” (and even then sometimes I get random blog post ideas in the middle of the night) but deep down inside, I have this deep deep-seated passion for what I do and I am so grateful to have found my calling.
Last month, I created the Drifter & the Gypsy Reader Survey to gauge where your interests lay to get a sense of what I could do to make reading this blog more enjoyable. Your responses were very much aligned with what I believe, which was a relief to know that we are on the same page! Be on the lookout for more lifestyle/around the house/around town/shots of my day posts as well as outfit posts AND every once and a special while, my own fashion photography. (I took a little hiatus from fashion photography when school took priority, but I really missed it and I’m going to make some photo shoots happen this year)! I have some fun things already lined up for 2015. (One of them is a VERY exciting new venture that I can hopefully talk about more in a few months. Let’s just say I bought the domain for it a few days ago and that’s all I can disclose. I love teasing you, I really do! *wink*)
Here are my favorite posts of 2014. I’m looking forward to making more magic in 2015.
This 5-minute DIY Dark Chocolate was pretty epic.

I went to Crossroads Camp! (See the post here.)

So much love for this little latte.
Llamas made it into one of my outfit posts!
Thank you guys for supporting Drifter & the Gypsy. Thank you for reading my ramblings and reaching out to me with your encouraging thoughts. Thank you for keeping me inspired and for letting this little drifter do what she loves. I have a final outfit post coming at you later today and then I’m taking off until the new year! (It’s the only time I take off all year.) See you all in January of 2015!!!
