What makes me a happy camper? The fact that sweatpants are in style right now. Though I’ve been wearing sweatpants (at home) long before they became popular; does that make me a trendsetter? (Okay, so my old sweatpants with a stretched out waistband and my high school emblem weren’t up to par with the athleisure on the market now, but that’s beside the point–I got new pretty sweatpants, it’s all good.) The point is this: The fact I can go out in public and basically wear my PJs and not only be considered socially acceptable but trendy too? Beyond me. Fashion is wonderful sometimes. I don’t know how long this trend will last (and maybe I’ll look back on these days and cringe… what was I thinking wearing sweatpants out in public?!), but right now I’m riding the wave 100%.
Take for example a day like this: I was out running errands all day, then went for a walk in the late afternoon with my mom. Easy peasy transition from errand-running to walking in the woods. I didn’t even have to change my clothes. (I could even go to bed in this outfit too, but I wouldn’t do that because that would be kind of gross–ya gotta draw the line somewhere.) Perhaps something like that doesn’t matter to you, but it matters to me.
I found these awesome New Balance sneakers at Crossroads. I’d been looking for a pair just like them and then voilà, Crossroads comes through! There was another girl eyeing this pair when I was there, but I quickly swooped in and snatched them up before she did because those suckers were MINE. (I’m fierce when I shop.)
It never gets really cold in California, but I happened to take these pictures when we were having a cold spell. (a.k.a. it didn’t get above 50 degrees the entire day… brrr.) I’ll take any excuse to wear a hat and gloves; it’s so rare I get the opportunity to dress warmly.
