SPRING IS HERE! Well not quite. But almost! February is one of my favorite months because we (in the Northern Hemisphere) start to see the end of the (winter) tunnel. Especially in California, when things bloom early (the Cherry Blossoms and Daffodils are already in bloom!), it’s easy to start dreaming of spring. This patterned scarf hairdo serves a dual purpose: to add a bit of style to a not-so-great hair day and to add a bit of spring color to your outfit. Who knows, maybe your vibrant colors will encourage the sun to come out and the groundhog won’t see his shadow this year!

(EDIT: Apparently today IS Groundhog Day–coincidence–and the groundhog saw his shadow, which means six more weeks of winter. I never believed the groundhog anyway.)

Steps:

1. Quickly add a bit of texture to the hair by wrapping a few sections around a 1 or 1 1/2 inch curling iron. You want to create a few soft waves here and there. This does not need to be perfect and shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes.

2. Tease the hair at the crown and secure back with two bobbi pins. Lightly spray with a bit of hairspray.

3. Choose your scarf (I love ones with a pretty pattern or fun color) and tie in the back or off to the side.
