If you’re anything like me, you’re constantly redecorating the rooms in your home. Maybe not physically redecorating, but obsessively pinning interior inspiration and imagining how you would redecorate your space if you were going to redecorate. My mind often wanders: If I were to paint my bedroom another color, what color would it be? If I were to replace my night table, would I go with shabby chic or mid-century modern? And then I have to remind myself that I like the color of my bedroom and I’m not planning on changing it anytime soon and, well, actually I am in the market for a new night table, but that’s beside the point.
myWebRoom allows you to create as many virtual rooms as you’d like. The items with which you can decorate are currently sold in stores. If you click on the item’s dropdown arrow you can see where to purchase the product. (I’m kind of dying over this sofa.) And if you want to make the room super custom, you can upload an item for myWebRoom to add to your room.
The rooms are themed by mood, movies/TV shows & celebrities, such as the artist’s room, Mad Men and Audrey Hepburn. One of their newest rooms is the myWebRoom Fashion Showroom, which has over 300 links to online boutiques (ie: ASOS, ModCloth, Free People, etc.), fashion sites (ie: Refinery29, POPSUGAR Fashion, etc.) and other resources for fashion lovers. In any of the rooms, you can click on various pieces of decor and furniture to access the different bookmark folders.
First you choose a room you like and then decorate it as you desire. I waffled between choosing a few urban lofts until I settled on the Audrey Hepburn room because I’m a girl. You can change your room anytime you’d like. If you need a little inspiration, you can visit myWebRoom’s inspired collections for ideas.
In my fantasy world, I’d have a pet deer and I was so happy to find a baby deer in their pets section. When you’re done decorating, you can add your favorite bookmarks to each item. (ie: favorite news sites to the magazine rack, your favorite videos to the TV, etc.) It’s a really fun thing to do to unwind from the day–a therapy of sorts (although you do need a desktop computer for this; the site cannot be used on mobile devices). Here’s the link to my room. After you complete your room, you can share it to the style gallery. I’m @drifterandthegypsy on myWebRoom, so if you’re on there, let’s be friends!
