Painted bookcase inspiration

September 1, 2015

I bought this bookcase at a garage sale a few months ago. I knew I’d eventually repaint it but in the meantime, I cleaned it up and put my books on it. It served the purpose for a while, but it’s time for a facelift really soon. Here are some of my favorite painted bookcases.

An all-white bookcase is always pretty. It lets the books stand out. Look at them POP!

Or else something a little more subdued and feminine is adding a soft pattern to the shelves. Oh My Dear added some Kate Spade wrapping paper to the back of her bookcase.

Instead of using wrapping paper, you can use fabric.

I love the look of a bold accent color for the shelves while leaving the outside of the bookcase white. Fresh and simple.

I like the bright pink.

…But it doesn’t have to be bright pink.

The mismatch of different patterns is pretty cool too.

This one uses stamps to create a pattern.

And now I will leave you with rainbow colored shelves because they are just awesome.
