When I was a little girl, I loved the story Madeline. I named my first dog Genevieve, read nearly all the books, watched the movie at least 8 times and still own a Madeline stuffed doll. My mom’s first reaction to this outfit was, “You look like Madeline.” I LOVE Madeline, so that is DEFINITELY a compliment in my books!
This is the first of three outfits I’ll be styling wearing ACT THREE. dresses. (You may remember a post I wrote about ACT THREE. here.) The dresses are cut specifically to fit petite women 5’4 and under. The Autumn/Winter ’15 collection is this label’s debut and all the dresses are inspired by 1960s French New Wave Films.
This dress I’m wearing is named the Marine dress, after Marina Vlady who played the lead in Two or Three Things I Know About Her (1967), directed by Jean-Luc Godard. Or it could be a Madeline-inspired outfit if your best French bombshell look ends up looking more like a French schoolgirl! I can definitely see it layered with tights as the weather gets cooler.
My mom and I took these pictures at the Conservatory of Flowers. It’s one of my very favorite parts of San Francisco. It’s not overwhelmingly large but not so small you finish looking at everything in 5 minutes. And it’s oh so beautiful for pictures. If you’re visiting San Francisco, it’s definitely a place to check out in Golden Gate Park.
