This is one of those outfits that came together purely by chance. I had planned on wearing this Mata Traders dress without any layers, but it was just too cold. On a whim, I decided to layer a plain cotton shirt underneath, not thinking it would look good at all. But I ended up really liking it. It’s sort of like a pinafore dress and I don’t own any pinafores, so I guess I created my own!
I gave this outfit a fallish spin with a pair of loafers and a thick scarf. I don’t like cold weather, but scarves are one thing I really love about the colder seasons. You can’t beat a thick, warm and comfy scarf. You just can’t. I had to add the lavender tights because I didn’t want to get tooooo fallish on you. I’m not one for earth tones or rust colors, unless, of course, they’re paired with pops of bright accents, pastels or some sort of floral pattern. Consider this my version of a fall ensemble!
I found out about Mata Traders through my friend Jess, who designed their logo. Mata Traders offers 100% fair trade ethical fashion. I find when you go the fair trade/ethical/organic/sustainable route in fashion, you end up with a lot of hippy dippy style things and it’s really refreshing to find a brand that shares my values AND style.
