Days before I went to Portland, I got an email from a Portland-based photographer, Caitlin, saying if I’m ever in Portland, she’d love to photograph me. She had no idea that literally two days later, I’d BE in Portland, and three days later, we’d be shooting together. How’s THAT for timing?
Caitlin showed me around some beautiful streets in the Laurelhurst neighborhood of Portland. We shot at this amazing home that had all these figurines in the front yard. I was afraid the owner, who came out while we out front, was going to shoo us away, but instead, she told us we could shoot in her side yard if we wanted to. I feel like in general, people in San Francisco are used to people taking pictures all the time, so they tolerate it, but every once in a while, you run into a mean one. But never will you run into someone who will actually OFFER their property for pictures. The people in Oregon are so nice!
